Anti-Ragging Policy

The Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1997 (Act No. 7 of 1997) prohibits ragging in educational institutions. Our school has an active anti-ragging committee that provides counselling services to both junior and senior students. Strict action will be taken against anyone found indulging in ragging.

Ragging is Strictly Prohibited

Ragging is strictly prohibited in our school campus as well as outside the school campus. All students are hereby informed not to indulge in any kind of ragging activity, either directly or indirectly.

What Constitutes Ragging?

Ragging includes, but is not limited to:

  • Taunting or using derogatory language towards someone
  • Physical harm, assault, or battery inflicted on someone
  • Causing mental distress, anxiety, or fear through actions or behaviour
  • Subjecting someone to humiliating acts, such as forcing them to perform tasks that degrade their dignity
  • Threatening someone
  • Compelling someone to perform tasks or chores that are not part of their normal duties
  • Making fun of someone, mocking their appearance, or ridiculing their behaviour
  • Taking advantage of someone's vulnerability
  • Manipulating someone's emotions, thoughts, or behaviour
  • Treating someone with disrespect, disregard, or contempt, including ignoring their boundaries or personal space
Importance of Anti-Ragging Committee

The Anti-Ragging Committee plays a crucial role in recognizing and addressing these behaviours to create a safe and respectful environment.
